Sprinter vs. other ground transport
What a group of 10 actually pays — compared.
| Option | Price | Time | Surge? | Capacity | Bags |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Mercedes Sprinter NYC | $450 flat | 45-75 min | Never | 10-14 pax | 14 bags |
| Uber Black XL | $180-420 (surges 2-3x) | 45-75 min | 2-3x in rain/snow/rush | 6 pax max | 6 bags |
| Uber XL / Lyft XL | $80-250 (surges 2-3x) | 45-75 min | 2-3x, common | 6 pax | 6 bags |
| Yellow Cab (Metered) | $70-95 + tolls + 20% tip | 45-75 min | No (flat from JFK only) | 4 pax | 3-4 bags |
| AirTrain + Subway | $10.75 | 60-90 min | Never | 1-2 with bags | Unrealistic for 10+ |
Bottom line: for groups of 6+, Uber Black XL or multiple cabs consistently cost more than a flat-rate Mercedes Sprinter once you account for surge, tolls, tip, and the inability to keep a group together.
Pricing FAQ
How much does a Mercedes Sprinter van rental cost in NYC?
+
A standard Mercedes Sprinter van in New York City costs $175/hour with a 3-hour minimum ($525 total minimum) for hourly service, or a $450 flat-rate for one-way airport transfers between Manhattan and JFK, LGA, or a $475 flat for EWR and TEB. Executive Sprinter trims start at $225/hour.
What is included in the NYC Sprinter van rate?
+
Every Mercedes Sprinter NYC rate includes the chauffeur, fuel, standard tolls, bottled water, Wi-Fi, phone chargers, 60 minutes of airport wait time (15 minutes at all other pickups), flight tracking, and standard gratuity. The price on your quote is the total charged.
Are there surge charges on weekends or holidays?
+
No. Mercedes Sprinter NYC never surges. Your rate is locked at booking — Friday 5 PM in the rain costs the same as Tuesday 10 AM. A 1 AM New Year's Eve sprinter in a snowstorm is priced exactly the same as a 9 AM Wednesday run. Flat-rate means flat.
Is gratuity included in the Sprinter rate?
+
A standard 20% gratuity is included in most flat-rate quotes (airport transfers, long-distance runs, wedding transportation). Hourly bookings display the chauffeur gratuity as a separate line item so corporate clients can account for it cleanly. Additional gratuity is always welcome but never expected.
What is the minimum to book a Sprinter in NYC?
+
The Mercedes Sprinter has a 3-hour hourly minimum ($525) or a flat-rate one-way airport transfer ($450-$475). Executive Sprinter trims also carry a 3-hour minimum at $225/hr ($675 floor). These minimums exist because a sprinter cannot turn more than one job in a window the way a sedan can.
Do you offer monthly or corporate invoicing?
+
Yes. Corporate accounts get NET-30 invoicing, monthly consolidated statements, and a dedicated account manager. Recurring shuttle work is quoted as a monthly contract. Email info@mercedessprinternyc.com with subject line "Corporate account" to open an account.
Are tolls and parking extra?
+
Standard tolls are included on all flat-rate routes. On hourly runs, we pass through tolls at cost (no markup). Parking is included at airports (60 min); longer paid parking at venues is passed through at cost with receipts.
Can I get a quote without giving my credit card?
+
Yes. Dispatch quotes on phone, email, or via the online widget without a card. Cards are only requested to hold a reservation. Corporate account clients are invoiced NET-30 with no card on file.
